addressed to His Excellency the Governor, I am directed to

inform you that is Rxcellency the Movernor is prepared to re-

commend to the Tegislative Council at its next meeting a vote

representing the excess in value of the areas transferred by

your Companies to this "cvernment over the areas to be relin-

guished to your Companies by this Sovernment in the eventḥa

decision being taken to acquire the proposed terminal site for

the Canton-Kowloon Railway by an exchange of lands.
